Qualifications

Single Pitch Award (SPA)

This isn’t a skills course, but a professional course for those wishing to introduce others to the sport of climbing

The M.L.T.E. minimum course requirements is to "have been climbing for at least 12 months & have lead at least 15 graded climbs" , However the more experience you have the more you will be able to get out of the course.

Prior to attending a training course you will need to:

0	Be Registered with the SPA scheme

Prior to attending an assessment course you will need to:

0	Be registered with the SPA scheme

0	Have attended a training course or have been granted exemption from training

0	Have gained further experience

0	Be proficient in the use of climbing walls

0	Competently lead to severe standard – outside – with leader placed (not bolts) protection

0	Hold a valid first aid certificate

Before attending any of these courses you will need to be reregistered with the MLTE and meet the minimum criteria

Further Information For further information regarding the SPA please contact us. Courses require a minimum number of participants to be run due to the constraints of the home nation training board [MLTE] ratios. Private courses can be accommodated by arrangement, four participants being required as a minimum.
